Bridal Party 3

Although Aypryl had envisioned this piece as having no attachment to our traditional notions of weddings, and she wanted to use the gowns to give the event a different meaning....we couldn't resist taking the obligatory group shot.


"Bridal Party" was a performance art piece held on Friday, October 21st, in downtown Cedar Falls. The participants (four males and three females, other than Aypryl) spread themselves out along a stretch of Main Street, and were each given a trashy romance novel with which to occupy themselves. I got one called "Forbidden", set in a time of castles and knights and maidens...I was rather entertained, to say the least...
Aypryl and a few assistants went along to each person and helped them select and put on a wedding gown. Once each person was dressed, we enjoyed a good half hour of quality reading. We then gathered at a grassy spot at the corner of 4th and Main, and had a picnic in our dresses, and each person shared his or her experience.
